Product Description
After six wildly successful and critically acclaimed season, HBO's Sex and the City lowered its curtain with an extraordinary finale befitting its remarkable run. Now Sex and the City, the first true comedy about sex and love from a female point of view (and the show that made cosmopolitans and designer shoes part of every single woman's night out), lives on in this luscious, uniquely entertaining, and one-of-a-kind book.

Sex and the City: Kiss and Tell, the official companion book, celebrates the show with behind-the-scenes stories on all six seasons and original interview with each of the primary actors. Ever wonder which designer made that outrageous outfit of Carrie's? What real-life stories inspired those shocking episodes? How many dates the fabulous foursome have really been on? Packed with over 750 full-color photographs, this stunning volume will answer all these questions and more with information not available anywhere eels. Topped off with a introduction by Sarah Jessica Parker, Sex and the City: Kiss and Tell will excite anyone who has experienced even the slightest flirtation with the sexiest, funniest show on television.

The book took a little time to arrive which I wasn't expecting but it was well worth the wait!

4 out of 5 stars Did Amy Sohn even watch the show?   July 9, 2008

I have to agree with the reviewer below my post, did Amy Sohn even watch Sex and the City? In addition to the "Carrie is every guys dream girlfriend" line which the below reviewer cited, I found several other statements flat out wrong. In the description of Charlotte, Sohn says that Charlotte "bluntly told Harry he wasn't as attractive as her". WHAT? How can anyone who's ever watched the show get this wrong? Charlotte got upset at Harry for watching the Mets (on mute) while Charlotte was serving dinner -- her first dinner as a Jew, which she had put tons of work into. The dialog between them is priceless, "I gave up Christ for you, and you can't give up the Mets?" Harry: "Oh it's going to be a long life if you keep that up. 'I gave up Christ for you, take out the trash' ". A second issue I found was in the description of Richard Wright. Sohn says that in Atlantic City Richard "slipped up once again." We actually never have proof of this, only the hint AFTER Samantha leaves the hotel room. And just to be picky, before she leaves, she says "I love you. But I love me more." (And not "I love myself more"). If you're going to directly quote a show, get it right. I like the pictures, and the overviews of the episodes, but comon. At least watch the show before you try to review it.

Can't say I read the book myself, but my Girlfriend loved it. She was very happy with it; could not put it down until it was done. The seller had gotten it here quickly too. I thought I ordered it late but I received it 2 days before I expected.

4 out of 5 stars Fabulous for Fans   May 5, 2008

This is a great coffee table book if you're a fan of the iconic television series Sex & The City - and I expect both this book and the series to have a resurgence in popularity with the movie being released in May 2008.

Whether you're a diehard fan or someone who has just watched most of the episodes over the years, this is a great book to catch up on the series or to help refresh your memory. It includes interviews/bios of all of the stars and a lot of the crew, mini episode guides including an insider anecdote for each ep, plus special features on fashion, location, and other defining traits of one of TV's greatest shows.

The book is relatively well done - they chose great photos of some of my favourite moments to complement the information and anecdotes, a lot of which I was surprised/amused to read about. I also enjoyed reading a lot of the things I didn't think I would care about, like the interviews with the cast (Samantha as Kim Cattrall almost never happened - they had actually cast someone else but begged her to come on!) and the information on location scouting.

My one major complaint would be that the book was supposedly updated to include all of season 6 - which was split into two parts. But the editors/writer got lazy because they really only included season 6 up until the final episode of the first 'half'. There was nary a single picture from the second half of season 6, which had some really cool moments/fashion statements! They included a bit of text in most sections to include the second half of S6, but even the episode guide was lacking...it only had four little blurbs that summed up the entire final part of the show.

In my mind that's a huge HUGE con to this book - I was looking forward to some more tidbits and information on those episodes and they just left them out. I have a feeling it had to do with pages of the book (i.e. you add a bit of content, you have to add a lot of extra pages) but still, this will be very annoying to just about anyone that bothers to pick this thing up.

Regardless, this is a nice book to have on your coffee table since Carrie & friends seem to be a universal interest.
