4 out of 5 stars Starbucks it's not, but it's darned good for instant   November 13, 2008
William G. Ryan (Atlanta, GA)
Well, if you are a true coffee enthusiast, then Instant coffee is not going to do it for you. If you are someone who likes coffee and likes it quick, you'll love it. My wife is a huge coffee drinker and so is my mom and grandmother. Late at night they all like their decaf. You absolutley can't beat this product for ease of preparation and it's the best tasting of the instants according to everyone in the family. The packets are also really conveniently small so it's an ideal item for camping, road trips etc.

If you only drink Vente Latte's from Starbucks, this won't do it for you, but if you like instant, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the Nescafe.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific Taste!!   October 22, 2008
B. Werfel (NJ - USA)
For an absolutely terrific cup of coffee in an instant you can't beat Taster's Choice!! These individual packets of coffee are easy to carry around, keep in the office, or travel with. I bought them to take on a trip and now keep them in the office for a quick cup of coffee in the afternoon. I also use them at home when I don't want to brew a pot of coffee. They have a wonderful flavor, and the amazon price makes them extremely inexpensive. You won't be disappointed. Although the directions state to use hot, not boiling water I bring it almost to a boil and find that gives a full rich flavor. Enjoy!

4 out of 5 stars Fun and convenient if you like Taster's Choice   October 16, 2008
Hal Jordan (USA)
If you are a fan of instant coffee, you may find these sticks to be convenient. Each stick contains enough coffee for one cup. I assume that they are meant to be taken to the office or taken along when traveling. I would guess that if you are home with access to a jar of instant coffee, there would be no advantage to using these sticks. I'm not a gourmet coffee drinker, so Taster's Choice is fine by me. I found no difference in taste between these sticks and coffee out of a jar.

4 out of 5 stars Good For A Quick Sip When You're In A Hurry   September 26, 2008

I'm not an avid coffee drinker, but when I want coffee I want decaf and I want it to taste good. Overall, I wasn't disappointed with this product. Although I did expect a more robust flavor, decaf coffee drinkers could do far worse.

If you're in the market for a quick cup of good (not GREAT) tasting cup of coffee, try this brand. It's quick, convenient, and doesn't disappoint the taste buds.

3 out of 5 stars As One Might Expect   September 24, 2008

Life is a series of compromised. As one grows older he or she learns to accept the fact that nothing is free and that everything has a catch. Among the most basic of these lessons is that most things in life are trade-offs, especially when it comes to convenience. Taster's Choice is an excellent example of the aforementioned principle, if one has yet to learn the lesson.

Convenient, yes. All you do is disolve the freeze-dried crystals into hot water and BOOM: instant coffee. It lasts practically forever. Taste? Well, it depends on what your standards are; see, that's where the trade off is. I think it's fair to say that like every other miracle product that came from "space-age" technology, results are often less than ideal. Since many people are fussy about their coffee, let's just say this wont rival a cup you brewed yourself the old fashioned way from Jamaican Blue Mountain beans that you ground only moments before. Having said that, the flavor wasn't half bad... for instant. I found the flavor akin to that of coffee that had been sitting around for a few hours. If that's no big deal to you then the convenience may be worth the trade-off in flavor. If, on the other hand, you'd rather have no coffee at all than drink something less than ideal, then don't bother. But I have to admit it wasn't as bad as I thought instant coffee might be.

Common sense is validated in this case. It's nice having some coffee stashed in the pantry in case you run out and not having to worry about it going stale. It's convenient for people who want to keep decaf on hand for that once in a while occasion when you want to have coffee after dinner. But I wouldn't go throwing out my coffee pot.
