 No caffeine boost August 1, 2008

I started drinking this tea as an alternative to coffee, and I notice no caffeine boost affects whatsoever. A waste of money.

I can't remember where I happened to first purchase this tea, since I haven't been able to find it again on the shelves at any of my usual shopping haunts. But I'm glad I thought to look for it here.
I enjoyed drinking this tea very much. If you like ginger tea, the zippy flavor of it that goes along with the soothing aroma and character, then you're on the right track. I recently stopped drinking coffee, and when I need a mental or energetic boost I find that yerba mate has worked well without making me jittery like coffee sometimes did.
Some of the more generic varieties of mate tend toward a grassy flavor, but I didn't find that here. I also haven't seen other makers offer a ginger mate, though others have mint, chocolate or chai varieties. I'm ordering more of this tea right now. :-)
