The Price is Right January 9, 2009 Morton L. Brown (Honolulu, Hawaii, USA) I shopped this item on many websites. Although I found it at the Amazon price at several other sites, Amazon was the only one offering free shipping (by 2nd day even) to Hawaii. The coffee grinder makes my morning, since it grinds the beans exactly as I wish to make the greatest cup of joe.
A Winner! January 9, 2009 A. Jepsen (Mobile, AL) This was a Christmas gift for our son-in-law, who's a real coffee buff. He wrote this week as follows: Wanted to let you know that I tried out my new Krups grinder this weekend and it makes the best coffee I've ever tasted!! Because you can select the how fine the grind is, I can make it specifically to my taste. So far, I'm loving it. Its also really nice that I can grind as much as I want. I really love it and I appreciate this so much!!
Great grinder January 2, 2009 Jer This grinder is the greatest. It will grind down to a powder and that is what is needed for expresso etc. Also it is easy to clean.
Learning to love it January 2, 2009 Janine (Oregon) I've had this grinder for about four months, and overall, I think it is a good value for the price and features. I didn't want to spend $100's on a grinder, so after comparing different brands, prices, and features, I chose the Krups. It's quirky, for sure, but it does get the job done! The container for the ground coffee could have been designed better, as the static electricity makes the fine coffee fly out unexpectedly. I would have liked an attached lid on the container. And the container is very touchy to slide back in -- you have to line it up just right (which I never seem to do on the first try). The small hole on the back of the container ALWAYS drops some ground coffee on the counter when you pull out the box. The grinder sometimes free-spins as if no coffee beans have dropped down, even though the hopper is full. This is easily remedied by giving it a little jostle, but probably will cause the motor to wear out sooner than it should. The selector for the number of cups is way off, but once you get used to it and find the right setting for your personal taste, it isn't a problem. I probably wouldn't like to be changing it and adjusting it for different quantities; we always just brew a full pot. All in all, it does the job, and I'm satisfied with the value.
Never worked properly January 2, 2009 Jane Dick Out of the box the product never ground the proper amount of beans. It would either grind too little amount, or it would jam and keep grinding all the beans regarless of the setting. We sent it back after a week of use and at least a couple of hours trying to get it to work.
