Delicious coffee, but is a bit of a headache January 4, 2009 Stephanie Manley (Houston, TX) I have purchased 3 of these in the last five years. I like the crema, the foamy head on top of my coffee. This makes a delightful mild cup of coffee. It isn't inexpensive, pods on average run from 25 cents to 50 cents a cup. Regular filter coffee is much less expensive, but it does not have the crema, nor the smooth taste this coffee does. This is fairly easy to operate. It makes wonderful coffee. For me personally, I used this coffee machine once a day every day. But I purchased three of these in the last five years because the pots break. All three broke in a similar manner, the water will eventually just leak out the bottom and it won't make any coffee. This may be a problem with the water I use, but I do get spring water delivery, but I can't say why this has happened multiple times. Another drawback of this machine is you are really limited in the brands of coffee that you can use for this machine. Primarily the Senseo brand is the most available, but I have purchased Folgers as well, but you can find a coffee you want to try and use it in this machine. I feel this is a major drawback. The Keuring single cup machines do sell a device where you can use your own coffee. Their coffee maker fails to make the crema that makes coffee from the Senseo maker so good. I have mixed feelings towards this machine. For me, the machines don't last too long, the coffee pods are pricy, and their is a limited selection on the coffee that is available. The coffee that is made is very tasty, it is smooth, and creamy. I would urge anyone considering this type of coffee maker to keep these drawbacks in mind.
easy and delicious December 29, 2008 M. Thomass great for 1-2 cups in a hurry- Price is great considering one can spend 5 times on a machine that will make the same cup of coffee
Flavorless December 27, 2008 Christine A. Thompson (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA) I got this coffee maker for Christmas, as I am a college student who lives by herself. I was excited to use it, but I found the coffee to be absolutely flavorless and bland. I do not like extremely strong coffee -- I always add milk and sugar -- but this coffee was too bland, even for me. I don't know how this coffee maker has a 4-star review... it is not worth the money, and the coffee is not even pleasant to drink. It is easy to use though. That's the only benefit.
Good, not great. December 24, 2008 M. Burstein (Boston, MA) Decent coffee. Lots of (maybe too much) foam on top. Water tank is fairly small. Two pod holders, one deeper than the other, but doesn't work with expresso pods with smaller diameter - comes out like water.
Good one cup coffee December 16, 2008 Milton N. Burgess The coffee made using the Senseo has excellent flavor. My particular situation is that I usually only have a couple cups per day and it suites that purpose very well. The only criicism I have is the marketing of the coffee pods. It is hard to figure out the packaging from the sketchy info given. Otherwise this is winner. I hope the brand succeeds so pods are available at discount stores. It would help if the detail on the pods said simply 18 pods per package, six packages per box.
