Great, strong coffee. November 18, 2007 M. Brodsky 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried quite a few of the coffees offered on Amazon, and this one was most to my liking. Strong, deep flavor, with some bite to it but not bitter. My favorite Starbuck's coffee is French roast, and in general I am partial to French roasts. I brew them very strong. This coffee resembles French roast but is different in a very interesting way. A bit more earthy. It strikes me as resembling a blend of French roast and Tanzanian, but closer to French roast. We still drink the Starbuck's French roast on occasion, but I like this coffee better. I found with some of the whole-bean coffees that we've tried that some of them come very oily, which makes them tricky to grind. This one is not so oily and grinds nicely.
Great Brand, Great concept, Try other Pura Vida Roasts July 11, 2007 Scott C. Brewster (San Diego, CA) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
For the record I love Pura Vida coffees. I drink them almost exclusively at home. While I do NOT like Cafe Kilimanjaro, I do like dark, strong coffee - try almost anything else by Pura Vida - you will not be disappointed....but....Kili was almost as distasteful as that last night on the Kilimanjaro ascent for which it is named! I found it filled with strange aftertastes. Just my opinion.
Coffee review April 12, 2007 Michael DuPriest 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This coffee has a rich, bold flavor, dark color, and nice aroma. Very enjoyable drinking! Comparable with Starbucks bold coffees.
The BEST bold coffee January 9, 2007 B. Stair 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Pura Vida Kilamanjaro has absolutely spoiled my wife and I to coffee. Starbuck's doesn't even match it's taste and knowing that Pura Vida does such great humanitarian work in the coffee growing countries only adds to its value. If you like bold coffee I highly recommend Pura Vida Kilamanjaro! It's now the only bean in our house.
an excellent dark roast August 1, 2006 J. C. Randow (Seattle, WA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a premium dark roast coffee this is it. Not only are you getting a dark, full bodied coffee but it's fair-trade and organic as well. Think about it, you get an amazing cup of coffee every morning and the coffee farmer in Indonesia and Ethiopia (the sources of Cake K) are receiving a fair, living wage for their labors. One of the best if not the best coffees that I have ever drank, I recommend everyone try it once because thats all it will take for you to become hooked on it.
