 Too spicy for a coffee substitute October 18, 2008

If you like chai (like the tea kind), this is for you. It's VERY spicy. Not spicy hot, spicy like heavy on the cinnamon,cardamom, etc. If you are a COFFEE lover looking for a caffeine-free substitute, this is probably not for you. Tastes absolutely nothing like coffee. It does have nice body and I like it mixed with decaf coffee to tone down the spice-flavor. Definitely serve with milk as the spices clash with any flavored creamer.

I had only bought what I could find locally and being the midwest the choices were limited and somewhat more costly. I bought this and find it to be the flavor of Chai I purchase in coffee shops. I make it in my drip coffee maker (always using a filter) and save it all in the refrigerator adding milk or soy at the point of use. It is turning out to be quite the bargain!
