Second Place in 20/20 taste test:
ABC News reporter John Stossel writes: "On our unscientific test, Starbucks came in first. A close second went to, surprise, the Sam's Club brand, Marques de Paiva. Oren's came in a distant third, closely followed by Nescafe, the instant coffee. The most expensive brand, the $[...] a pound Dean & DeLuca's, ranked second to last, and dead last was Folgers, America's best seller."

Coffe Review 2006: "Deep, pungently sweet aroma with cocoa, caramelly cedar, raisin, date and honey notes. In the cup rich, low-key, gently bittersweet with continued, very distinct cocoa and honey/date notes. Long finish with excellent flavor persistence. The cup flattens slightly as it cools."

Relatively low in acidity, round, sweet, and well-nuanced rather than big and bright.

The reason the price is so low is that it is imported by Wal-Mart (and sold at Sam's Club).

-Fair trade.
-Family owned since 1895.
-Enviormentally friendly processing techniques all along the chain of production.
-Organic.
-Gourmet.
-Wal-Mart's pricing POWER.

I have purchased other organic coffee from Amazon a few times before and I was pleased with the quality and price of the coffee. But this time is different. This coffee had a great price from promotion. It turned out that the coffee was old. The date on the package is March 29, 2008. I received the coffee on January 31, 2008. Yes,I realized this is an old coffee with two month shelf life. The taste of the coffe is okay (not great at all) and the worst part is the aroma. Very weak. I think this is due to the freshness of the coffee. I wonder if I could have returne the coffee afer opening the package.
I want Amazon to gurantee the freshness of the product that it sells. If this coffee is fresh, it may be a good coffee. Who knows?

I was not happy with the flavor of this coffee. It was a good value for the price but I probably would not order it again.

I am not to happy with this coffee it das not have much flavor or aroma. I achieved better taste in french press but my gavorite is still 1kg bag of italien lavazza. It will make nice foam in capucino machine. But for value buyers it is good trifty choice
