Questionable food at best August 15, 2008 Patrick Flautt (San Jose, CA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am still blown away as to why I ordered this item. Knowing what I do now, I would not touch this item with a 100 foot pole. The noodles never cook right for one, and the sauce mix is not tasty in the least. I have only had it plain however; so that's why I'm giving two stars here. But, I fear that chicken and vegetables added would only find me cursing at the end result. There are better brands out there that are not as salty and displeasing as this one. Having lived in Singapore and traveled throughout south east Asia I definitely know what good pad Thai is. This is not one of them.
Tastes great but overpriced August 13, 2008 Chen Sun (Houston, TX United States) The sauce and noodles are excellent. Also the noodles are about 7 inches long, making it easy to put into boiling pots. But, I wonder if the price is worth it,as each box consists of only small amounts of noodles and sauce. If you want convenient, tasty Chinese organic noodles, I guess this is it though.
Yuck! Annie Chun should pay my medical bill! July 14, 2008 F. D. Lung (Tiger City, SC) 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
I am growing more and more interested in Asian food. I am almost a regular at some nearby Chinese and Japanese restaurants (unlimited snow crab legs during the weekends, yum!), and I also enjoy Nongshim noodles, especially when I am getting creative and add extras. That's why I ordered this set of teriyaki chow mein. It was the first time I tried Annie Chun brand. Well, what's to be said? First, the noodles looked just OK, kind of like spaghettis. Of course I can get better Mexican fideos for less, but nevermind, I thought it is worth a try. The sauce was weird looking, but the bad part was when I tasted the combination. Ugh! It tastes awful, and I believe it caused me a stomach ache that lasted until next day. I almost went to the doctor. I am not saying it is bad for you, but for me, with an European stomach, so much abused by the American processed food, this "Asian" processed food was too much. I guess you could be fine with an Asian stomach. Can someone borrow me one for the rest of the pack or should I toss it?
Authentic tasting easy to prepare meal May 24, 2008 Neo (NY, NY) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Originally bought this to be quick lunch but realized it's more of a dinner kit than lunch. Easy to prepare in about 10-15 mins. Very authentic tasting meal kit. Add some veggies to the noodles, this makes it taste just like noodles from Manchuwok or Panda Express. Great product, will buy more.
Buyer Beware May 24, 2008 D. Buss 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
4 stars for Annie Chun, 2 stars for Amazon. Don't assume Amazon's picture of the product is what you will get. The picture for the Peanut Sesame meal kits shows the new organic version, what I received was the old product. The boxes were not yet expired, but there was a 50 cent coupon on the front of each box that expired 6/30/07 (almost a year ago - that's disturbing).
